Climate Change Adaptation training for Tribal Nations


The Climate Science Alliance worked collaboratively with the Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals (Northern Arizona University) and the Pala Band of Mission Indians to develop a three-day Climate Change Adaptation training on June 7-9. Participants included tribal nations from around the southwest looking to better understand the adaptation planning process. The training provided: (1) an overview of regional climate change science and impacts; (2) an introduction to the process of developing climate change adaptation plans, from getting started, to impact and vulnerability assessments, to developing adaptation strategies; and (3) tools, resources and partnerships for adaptation planning.
