Climate Walk at Cabrillo National Monument 8/5

Climate Science Alliance Partners, STAY COOL for Grandkids and Cabrillo National Monument are teaming up to host a Climate Walk at Cabrillo National Monument on August 5.

Attendees will be treated to a special Ranger-led hike by ecologist Alexandria "Alex" Warneke, who also specializes in youth engagement in science. She'll share insights about this special region of San Diego and how climate change has already impacted its ecology.

After the hike, stick around and have the kids learn and earn the Junior Ranger Oath and Badge from a real Park Ranger! Learn more about this fun program here. Alex will also host a special talk on Sea Slugs at noon in the Cabrillo Auditorium.

Plan to meet at the Flagpole near the traffic circle at 9:45 am and keep in mind that the walk includes hills and may be on uneven terrain.

NOTE: Possible delays expected when arriving at Cabrillo National Monument's Entrance Station due to summer tourist traffic. Please try to arrive by 9 am.

This event is free, but you may have to purchase $10 parking when entering Cabrillo National Monument. For those 62 and older, purchase your lifetime senior pass for just $10 at the Entrance Station (note - the Senior Pass cost will increase to $80 on August 28!).
