CSA Climate Education Training at Living Coast Discovery Center

On October 12, 2017, the Climate Science Alliance hosted a Climate Change Education Training for educators and docents at the Living Coast Discovery Center (LCDC). The training provided an overview of local climate impacts and strategies for communicating climate science to the public. Twenty-five educators received new tools and approaches for engaging youth and families on climate science including climate risks and solutions to conserve local pollinators and carnivores.

In addition, the Climate Science Alliance team has been working collaboratively with LCDC to incorporate climate science into LCDC’s existing curriculum and activities. LCDC currently uses new climate change and ocean acidification hands on science activities in their chemistry module.A huge thank you to Living Coast Discovery Center educators for making this consultation a huge success and to our partners at SDG&E for supporting our collaboration!
