Art of Change Showcased at Scripps' Plastic Awareness Global Initiative Event

The Alliance recently exhibited several plastics-focused art pieces from our Art of Change show at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography Plastics Awareness Global Initiative Plenary to inspire the community conversation around global marine debris.

The Climate Science Alliance (Alliance) was proud to support our partners at Scripps Institution of Oceanography during their Plastics Awareness Global Initiative (PAGI) plenary sessions held on October 1st and 2nd. The Alliance showcased several plastics-focused art pieces from our Art of Change exhibit to inspire the community conversation around global marine debris.

Hosted by the center for Marine Biodiversity and Conservation at Scripps, the four-day workshop convened leaders in the fields of marine science, government, conservation, and art to discuss the science of plastics in the sea and the solutions for marine plastic pollution.

The goal of PAGI is to bring global awareness and scientific insights to the global crisis of plastic saturation in the environment, to coordinate efforts addressing the problem throughout the world, and to leverage expertise around the daunting challenges associated with the growing social and environmental problems of plastics in the oceans.
