Meet Hoi-Fei Mok, Our Newest Affiliated Artist!


Our newest Affiliated Artist is Dr. Hoi-Fei Mok, who works at the intersection of climate resilience, environmental and social justice, and community art. Get to know the newest artist in the Alliance family!

"My work revolves around building a climate resilient future through all of my art storytelling, community organizing, and climate policy support. This is an unprecedented time for us, but it's also an opportunity to come together to transform society into something better."

Dr. Hoi-Fei Mok (they/them) is a queer non-binary Asian American artist-activist born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area / occupied Chochenyo and Karkin Ohlone lands. Fei works at the intersection of climate resilience, environmental and social justice, and community art. They graduated from Wellesley College, MA with top honors and have worked extensively as a researcher on climate change, population genetics, and ecological modeling in Costa Rica, Tibet, and Australia. Their PhD research focused on wastewater reuse for agricultural irrigation in Shepparton, Australia and included public health risk modeling, agricultural fieldwork, and economic feasibility analysis. Currently, they work at International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) - USA in the Bay Area as the climate equity lead, helping local governments with climate mitigation and adaptation technical needs. They also organize with Asians4BlackLives, API Equality Northern California (APIENC), Wellesley Underground, and Resource Generation.
