Emily Gelbart

NASA Intern

Emily is local to the Las Vegas, Nevada area. She earned her B.S. in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the Honors College at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). After graduation, Emily worked for the Clark County Water Reclamation District serving as both an intern and a full-time pretreatment technician. As a Nevada Water Environment Association (NWEA) licensed Grade I Industrial Wastewater Inspector, Emily went throughout the Las Vegas valley inspecting pretreatment devices. Emily pursued her graduate studies and recently graduated from New York University - Tandon School of Engineering earning a M.S. in Environmental Sciences with an emphasis in wastewater treatment and engineering. Emily has been working as a NASA intern since the summer of 2021. Now, Emily aims to support DRI and the Climate Science Alliance through her NASA internship. Emily hopes to start a PhD program in the fall of 2023 for Environmental Engineering to continue to study wastewater treatment.
