I am a shrub with dark green leaves and stalks of purple or white flowers in the spring and summer. When brushed, I smell sharp, spicy, and herbal. Many birds and small mammals depend on my seeds for food, and butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds pollinate my flowers and
collect my nectar. Even though I can withstand drought conditions, I am sensitive to these changes and with climate change expected to cause more extreme heat will be harder for me to survive in current locations.
