Allize Jimenez

Engagement & Communications Apprentice

Eliana Allize Jimenez (they/them) is a first generation Nicaraguan-American, multi-media artist, community organizer, and land steward based in Kumeyaay lands of San Diego, California. At a young age they learned to value community wellness and ancestral connection in their multi-generational household of urban South-East Los Angeles. Allize's artistry is an archive of Central American identity and trans-diasporic experience. With a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Counseling & Social Change from San Diego State University, Allize found a path in the helping profession field.

In the past couple years they have created story-based youth curriculum as a teaching artist and somatic based wellness workshops within their land stewardship practice. Allize has worked with a variety of organizations prioritizing the needs of migrants, urban youth, those facing housing insecurity, and addressing food apartheid in low income communities. They are committed to creating a self sustaining future together through healing our severed connection to land, diaspora, and self.

As the Engagement and Communications Apprentice, Allize is looking forward to bridging their efforts in environmental justice and intergenerational curriculum development at the Climate Science Alliance. They are excited to learn more about our collective role in climate adaptation and engage in meaningful connections with our community partners.
