On Tuesday, February 14th, Climate Science Alliance staff spent their Valentines Day at the MPA Collaborative Network meeting held on Kumeyaay lands in San Diego, at Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. This was the first in-person MPA Collaborative Network meeting since the start of the pandemic with a turnout of 30+ partners and representatives. Beginning the meeting, Dr. Fabio Favoretto shared his research, “Scuba Diving for Conservation”, followed by a recap of the Fifth International Marine Protected Areas Congress forum from Aubrie Fowler. Throughout the meeting attendees were able to network, share updates on their organizations, and brainstorm how to move forward with new projects.
