Call for Volunteers for Climate Science Area at EarthFair 2017

This year, the Climate Science Alliance is hosting the very first Climate Science Area at the Balboa Park EarthFair!

The Climate Science Alliance, in partnership with the Resilient Coastlines Project, will be hosting 20 local organizations involved in climate change and ocean research and education. There will be a Climate Kids activity guide that will encourage visitors to interact with exhibitors and learn about environmental stewardship to win a prize. Visitors can participate in a community art project with Alliance affiliated artists. The area will also feature a stage with performances by local musicians, storytelling from the City of San Diego Public Library, sing-a-longs with park rangers, and a marine debris demonstration by local high school ambassadors.

We are very excited by this opportunity to engage the public on the topic of climate change in San Diego and hope for great success! With such a large event, we would love extra support from Climate Science Alliance partners.

The 2017 Balboa Park Earth Fair runs 10:00am – 5:00pm on April 23rd. We can use help throughout the entire day for any length of time you can give.

If you are interested in volunteering at the Climate Science Area with us, please email laura.hampton@wildlife.ca.gov.
