The Southern California Regional CA Wildfire & Forest Resilience Task Force Meeting was held in-person in Calabasas, on Chumash, Tataviam, and Tongva lands, on February 2-3, 2023. Hosted by the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy (SMMC) and Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA), discussions focused on Southern California, with updates and panel discussions about real progress being made on the ground, and opportunities to network with partners from around the state.

The Climate Science Alliance was represented by Co-Director and Community Resilience Lead Althea Walker alongside Alliance Advisor Megan Jennings in the Resource Fair that showcased local organizations at work in Southern California. In addition, the Stewardship Pathways project was highlighted in multiple presentations and discussions throughout the meeting to raise awareness of the good work the Alliance and Tribal partners are collaboratively leading.
