Climate Science Alliance team member Audrey Carver was invited to visit the Manzanita Band of the Kumeyaay Nation for Climate Kids Book Club activities.
On January 11th, Climate Science Alliance team member Audrey Carver was invited to visit with the Manzanita education program team to read stories and share activities from the Climate Kids Book Club. Youth from Manzanita listened to the story We are Water Protectors, by Carole Lindstrom, about Tribal water stewardship, had a discussion about ways to care for the earth, and made seed paper bookmarks to take home. It was a fun day! Many thanks to the Manzanita team for organizing the event and hosting us!
In addition to Manzanita’s Climate Kids Living Library collection for community members to check out, the Manzanita team also hosts one of three regional Climate Kids Hubs. The Hub contains Traveling Trunks, Explorer Backpacks, and the Book Sets that are available for Tribal partners to check out for free. Learn more about the Climate Kids program and resources available through the Hubs, including the Book Club sets, at www.climatekids.org.
