On today’s blog: Climate Kids Mexico Project Manager Anna Lucía goes on a hike with the children of EUNIME to instill a sense of love and respect for nature in the children.
Last fall, Climate Kids Mexico Project Manager, Anna Lucía López Avedoy, went on a hike with the children of EUNIME, a home for children and youth affected by HIV/AIDS in Tijuana, Mexico. This hike served to further Anna Lucía’s goal to instill a sense of love and respect for nature in the children through outdoor recreation, education on native plants, and learning about concrete environmental actions they can take, including the “10 Things You Can Do To Help.” This event was possible through the participation of five Out of the Boat Swim volunteers, two caregivers from EUNIME and 11 participating youth.

El otoño pasado, la líder de Proyectos de Climate Kids México, Anna Lucía López Avedoy, salió a una caminata con jóvenes EUNIME, una casa hogar en Tijuana para niñes y jóvenes afectados por el VIH/SIDA. El objetivo de la caminata fue continuar trabajando para el cambio de comportamiento en los niñes para que amen la naturaleza, la respeten y la cuiden a través del esparcimiento al aire libre, el aprendizaje sobre las plantas nativas y las acciones que pueden tomar, usando como herramienta la lección de “Las 10 cosas que podemos hacer para ayudar al planeta con el cambio climático” de Climate Kids. En la actividad participaron cinco voluntarios de Out Of the Boat Swim, dos cuidadoras de EUNIME y 11 niñes.
