Held on September 11th-12th, the Intertribal Agriculture Councils Pacific Regional Summit focused on “Decompartmentalizing Agriculture with Traditional Ecological Knowledge & Regenerating the Land through the People”. In addition to the team hosting multiple sessions and an informational booth, many of our Tribal Working Group members were in attendance and also presented! This two day gathering consisted of learning sessions highlighting agriculture, conservation, and resources.

Day one included keynote speakers followed by a traditional food demonstration and exchange. Here we learned the traditional way to process acorns and sampled traditional foods such as wiiwish, cactus fruit juice, and salmon. On day two, Alliance Tribal Capacities and Partnerships Program Manager, Will Madrigal Jr., presented on "Acorns and Climate Change". Additionally, the Alliance’s Science Program Manager, Paula Sternberg, along with Indigenous Land Rematriation Specialist, Shannon Magee, and Research and Data Applications Lead, Connor Magee, presented on "Advancing a Paradigm Shift in How Climate Action is Visioned, Led, and Implemented". Lastly, Connor Magee also presented on "Tribal Agricultural Production and NRCS Assistance".

Thank you to the Intertribal Agriculture Council for organizing an amazing summit and including the Climate Science Alliance!
