Design plays an integral role in advancing a community centered approach to a climate resilient and adapted future. The Climate Science Alliance is proud of our on-going and intentional efforts to share and celebrate the climate stories that connect us. We do this through good science communication that effectively translates regional climate data, and meaningful community engagement that embraces equal valuation of knowledges.

To continue and expand upon our storytelling efforts, we are excited to announce a new role here at the Climate Science Alliance. The Graphic and Web Designer will join our team on Kumeyaay lands in San Diego, California as a part-time role, working closely with and assisting the Co-Director and Creative Lead.

The ideal candidate is someone who is highly creative, detail oriented, and has experience designing for print and digital media communications. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience working collaboratively with diverse partners to actively and effectively communicate projects focused on climate change science and solutions. We are interested in investing in and supporting an individual who wants to develop their technical and creative skills in support of our community-based projects.

The Graphic and Web Designer will report to the Co-Director and Creative Lead and has three primary focal areas:

  1. Support visual communication efforts through the creation of graphics, web-based content, report layouts, presentations, and more.

  2. Effectively communicate the Climate Science Alliance’s work to public and partner audiences through blog and social media posts and newsletters, frequent updates to webpages, and occasionally through direct communication at events and trainings.

  3. Maintain file organization and contribute to administrative and project tracking responsibilities.

Please review the position description for more information on responsibilities and qualifications, as well as how to apply. We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis beginning March 27, 2023 until filled.
