Join the Climate Science Alliance as an Engagement and Communications Apprentice! The Engagement and Communications Apprentice (Apprentice) works collaboratively with a diverse set of partners to coordinate events and communications focused on advancing climate resilience, capacity building, and community outreach.


Working closely with the Director of Education and Engagement, Director of Communications, and the Convene Program Manager, this position provides programmatic and administrative support for Climate Science Alliance education initiatives, community events, and general communications. The Apprentice assists staff in a wide variety of projects, events, and outreach activities.


The Engagement and Communications Apprentice reports to the Director of Education and

Engagement and will advance climate literacy through 4 primary focal areas:

  1. Climate Education Resource Development

  2. Event Organization and Implementation

  3. Communication Support

  4. Other


Position Description

  • The Apprentice must be under 26 years old (requirement of the grant funding for this position)

  • This is a 3-month initial apprenticeship with strong potential for extension

  • This is an on-site position based in La Jolla, California

  • This position is full-time (40 hours per week)

  • Position salary is $25-30 per hour based on experience
