This Fall the Climate Science Alliance brought on three new members to the team! Sarah Morgan is leading our educational programs and development of climate curriculum. Allize Jimenez is assisting in communications and becoming a familiar face at our community events. Amira Azoulay has rejoined the Alliance through her new position as part of the education team. These new team members will be working closely with the Director of Programs Jeanette Starpine in approaching climate literacy for all ages by contributing to our Climate Kids programming.

Sarah Morgan, Education Program Manager

Sarah Morgan has more than 15 years of experience designing and leading nature-based education programs at places like the Ocean Institute, Birch Aquarium at Scripps, and the San Diego Botanic Garden. Sarah brings a deep understanding of how to engage communities through creative, hands-on learning. She believes in the power of science education to spark curiosity, inspire hope, and build more resilient, connected communities. She’s excited to connect with learners of all ages, build lasting relationships with community partners, and support educators in inspiring their students to explore nature, climate science, and ways to take action.

With Allize’s experience creating story-based curriculum as a teaching artist for intergenerational audiences and a compost-garden educator, they strive to find creative ways to engage the community to our environment. They believe in carrying a holistic approach to relationship building by creating accessible avenues of communication and understanding. As the Engagement and Communications Apprentice, Allize is looking forward to bridging their efforts in environmental , community, and curriculum development at the Climate Science Alliance. They are excited to learn more about our collective role in climate adaptation and engage in meaningful connections with our community partners.

Earlier this Fall, we also brought back Amira Azoulay to the team as our Education and Communications Intern. Amira is known as the first-ever Climate Kid through her early youth engagement with the Alliance. From volunteering to engaging with her classmates at school, Amira has grown with the Alliance. Her initial contributions to the communications team as a Climate Communications Intern will continue to expand as a new member of our education team!

Thank You

Our apprenticeship and internship program—that supports both Allize and Amira who you met above—was made possible with funding from the Conrad Prebys Foundation Youth Workforce Initiative. We are so thankful for their support of our project designed to invest in youth environmental educators and stewards.
