Summit Program
Presented by the Climate Science Alliance and hosted at the San Diego Natural History Museum, the 2023 San Diego Climate Summit will uplift and celebrate our shared stories of transformational climate adaptation.
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, September 20th for meaningful learning and networking opportunities for all to connect, learn, and collaborate.

The 2023 San Diego Climate Summit is located at the San Diego Natural History Museum:
1788 El Prado, San Diego, CA 92101
Pick up your welcome packet, enjoy a self-led art activity, and learn about the newly-available Climate Science Alliance report, A Model for Community-Led Climate Adaptation. Doors open at 12:30. Please give yourself enough time to check-in at the front desk before the event begins at 1:30 pm.

WELCOME + SUMMIT OPENING
The day opens with a blessing and history of the land, followed by Bird Singing by Kumiai Bird Singers from Baja California. Special thank you to Ana Gloria (Martha) Rodriguez for organizing, and to Translation Precision for providing live translation throughout the day.
Founder and Lead Advisor of the Climate Science Alliance, Amber Pairis, gives the Summit Opening.

The concluding portion of the Summit opens with a blessing and history of the land, followed by a warm welcome to new attendees from the Climate Science Alliance team and the venue hosts, San Diego Natural History Museum.

FILM SCREENINGS
Experience stories of resilience, vibrancy, and leadership of Indigenous communities in the face of a changing climate. Attendees will watch special previews of Respect Water (working title) from Sacred Places Institute for Indigenous Peoples and MAATHAAW: The Fire Within Us from Condor Visual Media.
